OnePlus 7T Pro Review: A user's experience.

In the right circumstances, there’s nothing wrong with a minor spec bump, especially when it comes just six months after the device it’s improving on. That’s exactly what OnePlus has done with the €759 OnePlus 7T Pro, a newly upgraded version of the OnePlus 7 Pro from the first quarter of 2019. It’s coming to Europe and Asia but not the US, which is a rather unusual distribution.

When it comes to the changes OnePlus has made to the new phone over the previous generation, they can be a little hard to quantify. Take the processor spec bump as an example. OnePlus has equipped its latest device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, which, in theory, means it’s 15 percent faster at rendering graphics.

The implementation of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor really helps in the gaming aspect. If you’re looking for a great phone for gaming, this device is truly worth going for.

The OnePlus 7T Pro’s comprehensive cooling system combines a vapour-filled copper heat pipe, advanced thermal gel, and ten sheets of heat-dissipating graphite for advanced thermal performance. Power through the latest games with ease, never throttling or dropping frames.

The OnePlus 7T pro's immersive edge-to-edge display boasts a 90Hz refresh rate for unmatched smoothness and QHD+ resolution for exceptional clarity. Simply the most breathtaking display ever. Every touch is smoother and more seamless in ultra-responsive 90Hz. The resolution of the panel is 3120 x 1440, having 526 pixels-per-inch, making it still one of the best displays on the current market.

It’s a similar story when it comes to battery life. The OnePlus 7T Pro has a 4,085mAh battery, which is technically a whole 85mAh more than the 7 Pro. Does this make a measurable difference? Not really. What matters is that I struggled to drain the phone by more than 50 percent in a day. When I let the phone run down to zero, I found that it lasted me from 8AM until 4PM the following day. These were two comparatively light days of usage filled with mainly email reading and Twitter browsing, but you get the idea.

In addition, the phone offers a triple-camera setup on the back, as well as a Pop-Up front-facing camera to provide a higher screen-estate. The back-camera setup consists of a 48MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide sensor and also an 8MP Telephoto. These lenses are all enabled with OIS and EIS image stabilization and are also capable of stunning portrait shots. This phone offers a night scape feature which basically enables the phone to capture brighter and clearer low-light photos, available on the main and ultra-wide cameras. Capture vast landscapes and large group photos with a panoramic 117° field of view using the Ultra-Wide sensor. If you want to capture a photo from a distance, you have the option to switch to the 3x Telephoto lens which can zoom in while maintaining sharp detail.

The Pop-Up front-facing camera has been a feature seen in many devices along the year. The OnePlus 7T Pro has one of the best imitations of that. The sensor has a resolution of 16MP and is only capable of 1080p Video at 30fps. It is enabled with some other useful features such as Secure Face Unlock.

With lightning-fast UFS 3.0 storage and RAM boost, the OnePlus 7T Pro pairs flagship hardware with refined software for fast, smooth performance; from everyday multitasking to playing 3D multiplayer games.

The iconic OnePlus Fast Charging you know and love just got even better. Upgraded for faster, more consistent speed, Warp Charge 30T provides 68% in 30 minutes, unbelievable. The device is operated by their customized version of Android known as ‘OxygenOS’ which runs over the latest Android 10 operating system.

The OnePlus 7T Pro is also available in a limited-time McLaren model of the phone, however, that comes at a much higher price of €859 due to the custom design and features.

Finally, it is available in a 256GB ROM and 8GB RAM model, however, it is also available in 12GB RAM and 256GB with the McLaren Edition of the device. Unfortunately, the device is only available in one colour option, being a unique shade of blue which they call ‘Haze Blue’. Please be aware that prices may vary in different regions.
